Andalusia has reported a record of 7,409 cases in the last 24 hours. Malaga with 1,652 reported the most cases, followed by Seville which had 1,216. Jaen had the lowest on 541 and Huelva next with 591.

Sadly, there were 54 more deaths declared today which brings the total number of deaths since the pandemic began in Andalusia to 5,760.

There is some positive news and that is that 1,072 patients were declared cured and 164,226 have received the first vaccination jab and 15,202 have also received the second and final vaccination jab.

Huelva has 176 patients in hospital with Covid of which 14 are in intensive care. There are currently 3,043 patients in Andalusian hospitals with Covid-19 of which 432 are in intensive care. In Andalusia 17.69% of all hospital beds are occupied by Covid patients, please note that this includes all the extra beds that have been made available to deal with the pandemic. As for intensive care beds 23.93% of all hospital ICU beds are occupied by Covid patients.

Huelva had a record number of new cases today with 591 and also reported two deaths. The hospitals are under constant pressure with 24 new hospital admissions since yesterday. Ayamonte has seen it worst day ever in terms of positive cases, with 60 new positives and the rate per 100,000 has now exceeded 1,000 (1,246).

Ayamonte will join Isla Cristina and Lepe from this Saturday 23rd whereby all non-essential business must close. These restrictions will remain in place for a minimum of two weeks.
