Why Spanish?

This area will be a mixture of Spanish and English but predominantly Spanish. I am a fluent Spanish speaker myself and when I moved over to Spain I lived in an city called Valladolid. People say it's where the best Spanish is spoken. Of course, there very few people spoke English so I was bombarded by the language 24/7.

When I started I had about eight words, the essentials: Si (Yes), No (No) Hola (Hello), Adiós (Goodbye), Gracias (Thanks), ¿Cuánto es? (How much is it?) and cerveza (Beer, I am Irish). The rest of the time my index finger got me what I wanted combined with the word "eso" (that) followed by "Sí" o "No". We all start speaking like Tarzan, but hopefully this corner will help you out.

The whole idea of the Spanish corner is to more or less introduce you to the language and combine it with its relevance here in Ayamonte.

It's simple, the more Spanish you have the more you are going to enjoy this part of Spain, "Real Spain". We are open to suggestions so send an e-mail to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

Jeronimo Tirado from the Escuela Atenea in Ayamonte will be the main writer in this section and there will also be sporadic articles taken from interviews and news articles given to Infoayamonte by politicians, artists etc.

Enjoy

Two people meet in Ayamonte square and order breakfast in the Laguna bar. Lots of background noise but you can follow the conversation written here.
