Robotic Testing

The Junta of Andalusia announced today the incorporation of two robotic Covid detection stations, one in Malaga (Malaga Regional Hospital) and the other in Seville (Virgin de Rocio Seville Hospital). These robotic testing centres have a capacity of 2400 PCR tests per day per station. These Opentron testing stations which cost in the region of €85,000 will increase the hospital testing capacity drastically. Malaga Regional Hospital was doing 600 tests per day and will now have a capacity for 3,000 daily tests.

The President of Andalusia, Juanma Moreno, at the unveiling of the Opentron testing station in Malaga today said. “ The government of Andalusia will do everything in its power and more to control the pandemic and avoid the feared outbreaks. For this rapid detection is the key to prevent contagion from multiplying. We have everything planned at this moment in which the Andalusian Government has just assumed most of the crisis management ". The central government returned all the powers to Andalusia as they entered phase 3. The Andalusian health board will all reinforce the health care workforce by 20,000 professionals this summer which is 14% more than last year.

In Andalusia, the number of confirmed cases is now 12,820 (+10) of which 6,298(+5) have needed hospitalisation and 775 (+1) have needed intensive care. As of 00.00 today there are 60(-2) patients confirmed with Covid-19 in hospital and 20 (-2) of those are in intensive care.

In Andalusia with 14,405 (+83) patients recovered, the hospitals are as follows please note that the total of patients hospitalised includes those in intensive care

There have been 1,429 (+1) deaths in Andalusia (Malaga 287 (+0), Jaen 186 (+1) , Granada 287 (+0), Cordoba 117 (+0) , Cadiz 161 (+0), Seville 289 (+0), Almeria 54 (+0) , Huelva 48 (+0). In Seville there are 2,491 cases and 1,209 of those required hospitalization with 152 in intensive care. There have been 289 deaths while 2,836 have recovered.

In Huelva there are 407 cases, No new cases today, 222 have been hospitalized with 30 in intensive care. No new deaths were reported today, so total stays at 48 people. The good news is 474 have recovered from the virus.
