Control Covid

As the spread of Covid19 has been more or less controlled in Spain to the level that come Monday free movement within the whole of the country returns there is one word that is demanding more respect “Outbreaks”. All of the regional health departments have been gearing up for a rapid response when and if an outbreak occurs.

Some outbreaks have already occurred and here is a summary of those that have happened so far. The first two outbreaks happened last week in hospitals in Basurto in Bilbao and Txagorritxu in Vitoria. Between these two outbreaks 59 new cases were reported however these outbreaks are now deemed under control. In the Canary Islands 14 new cases have been reported in a group of illegal immigrants who arrived on a boat last Sunday. In Valladolid there have been three outbreaks, two in nursing homes and another in the hospital. There have been 26 new cases with these outbreaks now deemed under control. In Andalusia there have been two outbreaks recorded. In Algeciras, Cadiz a hostel with 16 guests and one of these guests a 78-year-old male has already passed (This was the death reported yesterday in Cadiz) and three others have tested positive. All guests have been isolated. And in Camposoto Military Base in Cadiz one Sargent has tested positive and another 22 soldiers have been isolated.

In Andalusia, the number of confirmed cases is now 12,892 (+21) of which 6,311(+2) have needed hospitalisation and 778 (+0) have needed intensive care. As of 00.00 today there are 42(-7) patients confirmed with Covid-19 in hospital and 11 (-3) of those are in intensive care.

In Andalusia with 15,051 (+73) patients recovered, the hospitals are as follows please note that the total of patients hospitalised includes those in intensive care

There have been 1,432 (-1) deaths in Andalusia (Malaga 288 (+0), Jaen 187 (+1) , Granada 285 (-2), Cordoba 117 (+0) , Cadiz 164 (+0), Seville 289 (+0), Almeria 54 (+0) , Huelva 48 (+0). In Seville there are 2,498 cases and 1,213 of those required hospitalization with 152 in intensive care. There have been 289 deaths while 2,858 have recovered.

In Huelva there are 407 cases, No new cases today, 222 have been hospitalized with 30 in intensive care. No new deaths were reported today, so total stays at 48 people. The good news is 478 have recovered from the virus.
