Natalia Santos from the PSOE party was sworn in today as Mayoress Thanks to the key vote of Juan Jose Santana from the Adelante Ayamonte Party.
There are total of 21 councilors on Ayamonte Town Council and after the elections on May 26th Partido Popular topped the polls by nine votes (3852 votes) followed closely by PSOE on 3843 votes and finally Adelante Ayamonte with 533 votes. This gave 10 councilors to both PP and PSOE with Adelante Ayamonte having the final seat and effectively the decision on who would become Mayor of Ayamonte.
Adelante Ayamonte support of PSOE meant that Natalia Santos became the first Mayoress of Ayamonte. In her first words as Mayoress she thanked everyone with all her heart for the honor to be the first female Mayor of Ayamonte and promised to work her fingers to the bone in the next four years for Ayamonte.
She said that the it hasn’t been easy to get to where she is today as she had to overcome many obstacles and betrayals. However, with the help of her team and their goals for Ayamonte, nobody or nothing will stop them reaching their objective. From this day forward she would be the Mayoress for all of Ayamonte and is at their total disposal. She thanked the assembly of Adelante Ayamonte and Juan Jose Santana for their vote of confidence and promised to not let them down.
Natalia Santos asked the people of Ayamonte to judge on her for who she is, not for the past, but for what she is going to do in accordance with program of PSOE & Adelante Ayamonte.
