Andalusia closes the week reporting another 7,070 cases in the last 24 hours. Malaga with 1,614 reported the most cases, followed by Seville which had 1,262. Jaen had the lowest on 362 and Huelva next with 479.

Sadly, there were 24 more deaths declared today which brings the total number of deaths since the pandemic began in Andalusia to 5,923.

There is some positive news and that is that 1,036 patients were declared cured and 175,556 have received the first vaccination jab and 24,701 have also received the second and final vaccination jab.

There are currently 3,613 patients in Andalusian hospitals with Covid-19 of which 517 are in intensive care. Huelva in the last 7 days has declared 2,997 cases and have seen hospital numbers increase by 119. Today there are 217 people hospitalized in Huelva hospitals that is more than double last Sunday’s figure (98). Sadly, we still have number of difficult days ahead.

Ayamonte will carry out mass screening tomorrow with 800 people booked in to take the test as the town tries to bring the current surge under control. The secondary school IES Guadiana has closed until 1st February and the other schools have also requested permission to close.

For thse of you who have asked for the numbers this Saturday and Sunday in Ayamonte,the Andalusian health board only publish the gobal provincial numbers at the weekend and then on Monday they publish the breakdown per municipality.
