The President of Spain, Pedro Sanchez, announced today that Spain will open up its borders with all European Union and Schengen-area countries with the exception of Portugal which will have to wait until July 1st. The King of Spain, Felipe VI and the Portuguese Prime minister, Antonio Costa, will hold a reopening ceremony on July 1st on the border between Badajoz (Spain) and Caia (Portugal). The border between Portugal and Spain was closed on 16th March 2020. The United Kingdom despite having left the European Union earlier this year will also be welcome as of June 21st.

In Andalusia, the number of confirmed cases is now 12,840 (+4) of which 6,303(+1) have needed hospitalisation and 777 (+0) have needed intensive care. As of 00.00 today there are 47(-6) patients confirmed with Covid-19 in hospital and 14 (-3) of those are in intensive care.

There have been 1,432 (+1) deaths in Andalusia (Malaga 288 (+1), Jaen 185 (+0) , Granada 287 (+0), Cordoba 117 (+0) , Cadiz 163 (+0), Seville 289 (+0), Almeria 54 (+0) , Huelva 48 (+0). In Seville there are 2,494 cases and 1,210 of those required hospitalization with 152 in intensive care. There have been 289 deaths while 2,842 have recovered.

In Huelva there are 407 cases, No new cases today, 222 have been hospitalized with 30 in intensive care. No new deaths were reported today, so total stays at 48 people. The good news is 477 have recovered from the virus.
